It seems that more and more companies are conducting interviews online because it is easier to conduct interviews on the web for remote work jobs and first interviews. ○ Use the “Mute” button
It’s a perfect feature to use when the interviewer is giving a long explanation. While using the “mute” button, the interviewer will not be able to hear any sounds, which is useful if there is a lot of noise in your home, such as a dog barking or children playing.
○ Look at the camera while talking
Looking into the interviewer’s eyes on the screen may not be apparent to the interviewer, so try to look at the camera while you are speaking so that you are looking at the other person and not at yourself or the screen. It can make them think you are watching.
○ Using a desktop or laptop
Zoom also has a mobile app, but you’ll be better off using a desktop or laptop. If you put your smartphone on the desk, the camera may shake, but with a computer, you no longer see yourself shaking on the screen.
○ Maintain a good internet connection
Before your Zoom interview, make sure you have a good internet connection in the room where you plan to be interviewed. As long as you can stream videos and have Zoom conversations with others, your connection should be stable during the interview.

○「ミュート」ボタンを使う
面接官が長く説明をしている際に使うのにぴったりの機能です。「ミュート」ボタンを使っている間は、こちらの音声が面接官に聞こえなくなるので、犬の鳴き声や子どもが遊んでいる音など、自宅の中で大きな音がする場合に役に立ちます。
○話している間はカメラに目線を向ける
画面上で面接官の目を見ていても、面接官にはそれが伝わらない場合があるため、自分が話している間はカメラに目線を向けるようにすれば、自分や画面ではなく相手を見ているように思わせることができます。
○デスクトップPCやノートパソコンを使う
Zoomにはモバイルアプリもありますが、デスクトップPCやノートパソコンを使った方が適切です。スマートフォンを机に置くと、カメラが揺れてしまう恐れがありますが、パソコンであれば、画面上で自分の姿が揺れることがなくなります。
○インターネット接続を良好な状態にする
Zoom面接の前に、面接を受ける予定の部屋でインターネット接続が良好かどうか、あらかじめチェックしておきましょう。動画のストリーミング再生ができたり、他の人とZoomで会話したりできる状態であれば、面接中も接続が安定していると考えられます。
