A super-moon will be visible from August 30th to 31st.
There will be a full moon today, Thursday, August 31, 2023, at around 10:37. There is something mysterious about the full moon that brightens up the night sky and the city. This full moon is attracting more attention than usual. It is called a “super-moon” because it will be the closest full moon to Earth this year. You will not be able to see the full moon at 10:37 on the 31st. The approximate moonrise time on the 31st is around 18:36 in Tokyo and around 18:52 in Osaka.
“The second full moon of the month is called a blue moon.” This year, August 2nd and 31st will be full moons, and the full moon on 31st will be a blue moon. In addition to the blue moon, full moons sometimes have a color in their name, such as the April full moon being called the pink moon. Some people often interpret these colors to mean that they appear that color, but in fact, just because it’s a “blue moon” doesn’t mean the moon looks blue. So is the Pink Moon.

8月30日から31日かけてスーパームーンが見える
明日、2023年8月31日(木)の10時37分頃に満月を迎えます。夜空や街を明るく照らす満月はどこか神秘的で、毎月満月に注目される方も少なくないはずです。今回の満月はいつも以上に注目度大。今年の中で地球から最も近い位置で満月となるため「スーパームーン」と呼ばれます。31日の10時37分に迎える満月の瞬間は月を見ることができません。今夜30日の深夜から31日の未明にかけて、また31日の月の出以降にお楽しみください。31日の月の出時間の目安は東京で18時36分頃、大阪で18時52分頃です。
同月二度目の満月をブルームーンと呼びます
その月の二度目の満月はブルームーンと呼ばれます。今年の8月は2日と31日が満月にあたり、31日の満月がブルームーンとなります。ブルームーンの他に4月の満月をピンクムーンと呼ぶように満月の名称に色が入る事があります。これらはよくその色に見えると解釈される方がいますが実際に「ブルームーン」だからといって月が青く見えるわけではありません。ピンクムーンも同様です。
