This service is said to be a taxi dispatch service that is self-driving, from picking you up at a designated location to reaching your destination, and everything from dispatch to payment can be completed using a smartphone app.
The vehicle does not have a driver’s seat, and has a spacious interior that seats six people facing each other, creating a space similar to that of a private car. ”We will provide a new transportation experience to a variety of customers, such as allowing business people to make effective use of their travel time, and allowing them to travel more easily, securely, and enjoyably with family and friends.”
The Cruise Origin used this time seems to have adopted Level 4 autonomous driving, which does not assume human driving.

ホンダは2023年10月19日（木）、米GM、GMクルーズホールディングス（クルーズ）と共同で日本において自動運転タクシーサービスを2026年初頭に開始すべく、合弁会社の設立に向けた基本合意書を締結したと発表しました。
GMとホンダなどが共同開発した自動運転専用車両「クルーズ・オリジン」を使用します。東京都心部で数十台からスタートし、500台規模での運用を見込んでいるそうです。その後はエリアの拡大を目指すといいます。
このサービスは、指定場所まで迎えにくるところから、目的地に到達するまで全て自動運転で行われ、配車から決済まで全てスマートフォンのアプリで完結するタクシー配車サービスだそうです。
車両には運転席がなく、対面6人乗りによる広い車内空間と自家用車のような空間を実現しているそう。「ビジネスパーソンの移動時間の有効活用や、家族や友人たちともっと楽に安心して楽しみながら移動できるなど、さまざまなお客様へ新たな移動体験を提供します」ということです。
今回使用するクルーズ・オリジンは、人間の運転を想定しない自動運転レベル4を採用しているそうです。
ちなみに、クルーズ・オリジンは東京ビッグサイトで開催される「Japan Mobility Show 2023」（一般公開日：10月28日～11月5日）に出展されます。
