【Second release of treated water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant completed as planned】
Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that the second release of treated water accumulated at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean, which began on the 5th of this month, was completed as planned just after noon on the 23rd.
At the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, treated water containing radioactive substances such as tritium is stored in over 1,000 tanks. Starting in August this year, TEPCO began diluting the concentration of water to below standards by adding large amounts of seawater and releasing it into the ocean.
This fiscal year, the plan is to release approximately 31,200 tons, equivalent to 40 tanks, in four parts, with the second release starting on the 5th of this month.
According to TEPCO, 7,810 tons of 10 tanks were released, and the release was completed as planned at 12:08 pm on the 23rd.
During this period, what appeared to be rust from inside the tank adhered to the filter of the pump that transfers treated water from the tank, causing a temporary drop in pump pressure, but when the filter was cleaned, the pressure returned to normal and the discharge work was resumed. That means there was no impact.
In addition, in an analysis of the tritium concentration in seawater conducted daily at 10 points within 3 kilometers from the nuclear power plant, the highest concentration of tritium detected was 22 becquerels per liter in the seawater sampled at the point closest to the release point on the 21st. This was significantly below the 700 becquerel level, which is the level required to determine a shutdown.

【福島第一原発の処理水 2回目の放出 計画どおり完了 東京電力】
東京電力は、今月5日から始めた福島第一原子力発電所にたまる処理水の2回目の海への放出について、23日正午すぎに計画どおり完了したと発表しました。
福島第一原発では、トリチウムなどの放射性物質を含む処理水が1000基余りのタンクに保管されています。東京電力はことし8月から、大量の海水を加えるなどして基準を下回る濃度に薄めて海への放出を始めています。
今年度はタンク40基分、およそ3万1200トンを4回に分けて放出する計画で、今月5日からは2回目となる放出を行っていました。
東京電力によりますと、タンク10基に入っていた7810トンを放出し、23日午後0時8分に計画どおり放出を完了したということです。
期間中、タンクから処理水を移送するポンプのフィルターにタンク内のさびとみられるものが付着し、ポンプの圧力が一時低下しましたが、フィルターを清掃したところ圧力は元に戻り、放出作業への影響はなかったということです。
また、原発から3キロ以内の10地点で毎日行っている海水のトリチウム濃度の分析では、21日放出口にもっとも近い地点で採取した海水から検出された1リットル当たり22ベクレルが最大で、放出の停止を判断するレベルの700ベクレルを大幅に下回りました。
